Create an agent — step-by-step wizard
The creation wizard guides you through your AI agent’s initial setup in 6 steps. You can complete it in a few minutes, and the result is an agent ready to test. To start, go to My agents in the side menu and click New agent (or Create my first agent if you don’t have any yet). The wizard opens full screen. At the top you see the steps — Type · Analysis · Business · Training · Model · Widget — and you can click one you already visited to go back. With ← Back you return to the previous step.Save and exit, at the top right, creates the agent as a draft with what you have so far and takes you back to My agents. You can complete the rest later from the agent’s tabs.
Step 1 — Type
The What will your agent do? screen shows the available templates. Each template comes with instructions and fields ready for that job; everything can be adjusted later. You can search with Search templates… or filter by category: All, Support, Sales, Scheduling, Industries, and Internal team.Template fields
Some templates ask for additional data that is inserted into the instructions, marked with the FROM THE TEMPLATE label: for example, Conversion goal in Sales agent, Return policy URL in E-commerce support, or Booking link in Booking & scheduling.Your website
Type your site’s address in Your website (for example,example.com) and click Analyze my site. From it, ChatNorris gets your brand’s name, description, logo, and color.
If you don’t have a website, check I don’t have a website and fill in Business name and What does your business do?. Without a website, the wizard skips the analysis and the training; you can upload documents later from the Knowledge Base.
Step 2 — Analysis
While ChatNorris analyzes your site, the Building your agent. screen shows the progress:- Reading your website
- Identifying your brand
- Summarizing what you do
- Creating your agent
- Drafting instructions
- Writing welcome messages
Step 3 — Business
In Does this look right? you review what ChatNorris detected:- Business name — your company’s name.
- What does your business do? — a short description. It’s written in your language even if your site is in another one, and it’s saved as the agent’s description.
- Detected brand — the logo and color found on your site, which are used in the widget at the end.
Step 4 — Training
In Train your agent with your site. ChatNorris looks for your site’s public pages to add them to the agent’s knowledge base. You’ll see how many pages it found, up to a maximum of 60. If it doesn’t find more pages, it reads only the home page.- This domain only — skips subdomains (like
blog.yoursite.com). - In Advanced options: Exclude paths (for example
/blog, /legal, /admin) and Exclude domains.
Step 5 — Model
AI model
Choose the AI model. The wizard suggests three options, each with its cost in credits per message:- the RECOMMENDED model (the best balance of quality and cost),
- the most affordable one in your plan (fast, ideal for FAQs and high volume),
- an alternative from another provider.
Only answer from its knowledge base
The Only answer from its knowledge base switch (KB-Only mode) makes the agent, if it doesn’t know something, say so instead of making it up:- The agent doesn’t use the AI model’s general knowledge.
- It’s ideal for support assistants where accuracy is the priority.
Agent instructions (system prompt)
The Agent instructions field is generated from the chosen template and what ChatNorris read about your business. You can edit it freely; Restore template goes back to the original text, and Use suggested settings resets the whole step. Recommended structure:Step 6 — Widget
In Give your agent a face. you customize how your visitors will see the widget. Changes are reflected instantly in the PREVIEW, which you can view Open or Closed.
Click Create agent.
After the wizard
When you finish, the agent is created as a draft in My agents and you see the To publish list, with four steps that check themselves off as you complete them:- Knowledge Base — completed with at least one source. If you trained with your site in step 4, it’s done.
- Customize — completed when you save in Customize or upload your own logo or avatar.
- Test in Playground — completed with the first message you send in the Playground (or with any real conversation).
- Connect a channel — completed when you publish the agent: the web widget from Deploy, or WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, Email, or Google Reviews from the same tab.
