Cal.com

With the Cal.com Action, the visitor books a meeting with you without leaving the chat. When the conversation matches what you define:
  • in the web widget and in the Playground, the agent opens your Cal.com calendar embedded in the conversation;
  • in WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and Email, the agent shares the event’s direct link;
  • if the visitor already left their contact details, the booking form is prefilled.
You don’t need to connect any account: you just paste your event type’s public link.

Requirements

  • A ChatNorris account on any plan. Cal.com is included in all plans, Free too. You can see the plans at chatnorris.ai/pricing.
  • At least one agent created in ChatNorris. If you don’t have one yet, follow Create an agent.
  • A Cal.com event type with its public link.
  • Owner or Admin role in your ChatNorris organization.
Cal.com appears in the Integrations catalog, in the Scheduling category, but it doesn’t require a connection or credentials: you set it up directly in the Action.

Configure the Action

1

Create the Cal.com Action

Go to My agents → [your agent] → Actions, click New action, and choose Cal.com.
2

Paste your Cal.com event's public link

In Event link, paste the public URL of your Cal.com event type (cal.com/... or www.cal.com/...) or just the user/event slug. It doesn’t require connecting an account or credentials.
3

Define when to offer the calendar

In Behavior, describe in When to use in which situations the agent should offer the booking calendar. You can go back to the original text with Restore default text. The calendar is offered every time it applies, unless the visitor already booked in that conversation.
4

Customize the appearance and messages

Adjust the layout and theme of the embedded calendar, as well as the success and failure messages the visitor sees (see below).
5

Enable the Action and save

With Enabled on, the agent offers the calendar when it applies.

Calendar appearance

In Post-booking messages, you define the Success message and the Failure message the visitor sees depending on the booking’s result.

How the visitor books

In the web widget and in the Playground, the Cal.com calendar opens embedded in the conversation. In messaging channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger) and in Email, the agent shares the event’s direct link. The agent never makes up times or confirms a booking on its own: the visitor chooses the time and books in Cal.com.
If the visitor already left their contact details earlier (for example, in a Lead Form or during the conversation), the Cal.com booking form is automatically prefilled with their name, email, and phone.
In the Playground, Cal.com bookings are real. If the agent has this Action, before the first message you’ll see the notice This test can create real data. See Test an agent.

Several scheduling actions on the same agent

If an agent has more than one scheduling action (for example, Cal.com, Calendly, and Google Calendar), it shows only one calendar per reply: the one that best matches what the visitor asked for. Describe clearly in When to use what kind of meeting each one covers so it gets it right. With a scheduling action ready, asking for a meeting or a call isn’t a handoff, even if the visitor names an account executive or advisor: the agent offers them the calendar. See Human Handoff.

Frequently asked questions

No. You only need your event type’s public link. No credentials or API keys are entered.
Yes. The Cal.com Action is included in all plans, Free too.
Cal.com doesn’t notify ChatNorris of the booking, so the Log booked meetings capability of Pipedrive doesn’t log them. It only logs appointments from Google Calendar, Encuadrado, and AgendaPro.
