# Calendly

> How to set up the Calendly Action on a ChatNorris agent so the visitor books a meeting without leaving the chat, with the calendar embedded in the web widget, by pasting only an event type's public link.

# Calendly

With the Calendly Action, the visitor books a meeting with you without leaving the chat. When the conversation matches what you define:

* in the **web widget** and in the **Playground**, the agent opens your Calendly calendar embedded in the conversation, with the visitor's name and email prefilled if they already confirmed them;
* in **WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, and Email**, the agent shares the event type's link.

You don't need to connect any account or paste API keys, so **it works with any Calendly plan, including the free one**.

## Requirements

* A ChatNorris account on the **Standard** or **Premium** plan. You can see the plans at [chatnorris.ai/pricing](https://chatnorris.ai/pricing).
* At least one agent created in ChatNorris. If you don't have one yet, follow [Create an agent](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/crear-agente-wizard.md).
* A Calendly event type with its public link (`calendly.com/user/event`). Any Calendly plan works, including the free one.
* **Owner** or **Admin** role in your ChatNorris organization.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Calendly appears in the **Integrations** catalog, in the Scheduling category, but it doesn't require a connection: you set it up by pasting the event type's public link directly in the Action.

## Configure the Action

**1. Create the Calendly Action**

Go to `My agents → [your agent] → Actions`, click **New action**, and choose **Calendly**.

**2. Paste your event type's public link**

In **Event type link**, paste the event type's public link (`calendly.com/user/event`), which you copy from Calendly.

**3. Define when to offer the calendar**

In **When to use**, describe in which situations the agent should offer the calendar (for example, "when they ask for a demo"). You can go back to the original text with **Restore default text**. The calendar is offered every time it applies, unless the visitor already booked in that conversation.

**4. Adjust how the calendar looks**

* **Use the widget color**: applies your widget's main color to the calendar's buttons.
* **Hide event details**: recommended in the chat, it leaves only days and times.
* **Hide Calendly cookie banner**: keeps it from taking up space in the chat.

**5. Customize the post-booking messages**

The **Success message** is shown when the visitor finishes the booking, and the **Failure message** if the calendar doesn't load.

**6. Enable the Action and save**

With **Enabled** on, the agent offers the calendar when it applies.

### How the visitor books

In the **web widget** and in the **Playground**, the Calendly calendar opens embedded in the conversation, with the visitor's name and email prefilled if they already confirmed them. In WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, and Email, the agent shares the event type's link.

The booking happens in Calendly: ChatNorris doesn't store the booking details, and Calendly keeps sending its usual confirmations and reminders.

> [!WARNING]
>
> In the **Playground**, Calendly bookings are real. If the agent has this Action, before the first message you'll see the notice **This test can create real data**. See [Test an agent](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/chatbots.md#test-an-agent).

### Several scheduling actions on the same agent

If an agent has more than one scheduling action (for example, [Cal.com](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/cal-com.md), Calendly, and [Google Calendar](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/google-calendar.md)), it shows **only one calendar per reply**: the one that best matches what the visitor asked for. Describe clearly in **When to use** what kind of meeting each one covers so it gets it right.

With a scheduling action ready, asking for a meeting or a call isn't a handoff, even if the visitor names an account executive or advisor: the agent offers them the calendar. See [Human Handoff](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/acciones.md#human-handoff).

## Credits

ChatNorris doesn't charge extra credits for booking with Calendly: only the conversation's AI turn.

## Frequently asked questions

> [accordion] Does it work with free Calendly?
>
> Yes. Since only the event type's public link is used, without connecting an account or pasting API keys, it works with any Calendly plan, including the free one.

> [accordion] Which ChatNorris plan do I need?
>
> Calendly is available from the Standard plan, with no pilot required.

> [accordion] Calendly bookings don't appear in Pipedrive
>
> Calendly doesn't notify ChatNorris of the booking, so the **Log booked meetings** capability of [Pipedrive](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/pipedrive.md) doesn't log them. It only logs appointments from Google Calendar, Encuadrado, and AgendaPro.
