# Manage your account

> How to update your profile, change your password and manage your organization in ChatNorris.

# Manage your account

Your personal details (profile, password and notifications) are in **My account**. Your organization's details are in **Settings → General**.

To open **My account**, click your name or avatar at the bottom of the side menu and choose **Account settings**. There you'll find three sections: **Profile**, **Change password** and **My notifications**.

## Update your profile

**1. Go to My account → Profile**

Open your account menu, choose **Account settings** and go to **Profile**. You'll see your email and your role in the organization (Owner, Admin or Operator).

**2. Edit your name**

In **Edit information** you can update your **Full name**. This name appears in conversations when you handle a handoff.

**3. Save the changes**

Click **Save changes** to confirm.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Your account's **email address** can't be changed from the portal. If you need to change it, write to us at [hola@chatnorris.ai](mailto:hola@chatnorris.ai).

### Profile photo

In **My account → Profile**, the **Profile photo** card lets you **Upload image**, **Change** or **Remove** your photo: PNG, JPG or WebP up to 2 MB. If you sign in with Google, your Google photo is used until you upload another one.

Your photo appears in your account menu and, for your team, next to your messages in **Conversations** and in ChatNorris Inbox. Visitors see it in the widget only if the agent has **Show operator photo and name** turned on (see [Customize the widget](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/widget-personalizacion.md#operator-photo-and-name)).

### Product updates

The **Product updates** preference (*"Get an email when we launch new features, blog posts, or how-to videos."*) is also in **My account → Profile**. It's on by default, and you can turn it off there or from the link included in every product updates email. The old `/settings/profile` address redirects to this page.

The preference is personal: it doesn't affect the other members of your organization.

## Change your password

You can change your password without signing out:

**1. Go to My account → Change password**

Open your account menu, choose **Account settings** and go to **Change password**.

**2. Enter your current password and the new one**

Fill in **Current password**, **New password** (at least 8 characters) and **Confirm new password**.

**3. Save the changes**

Click **Change password**. The new password is active right away.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If you signed up with Google or GitHub, you don't have a password in ChatNorris. To change it, go to the security settings of your Google or GitHub account.

If you forgot your current password, you can recover it:

1. Sign out of the portal.
2. On the login screen, click **Forgot your password?**
3. Enter your email and follow the instructions in the email you'll receive.

## My notifications

In **My account → My notifications** you choose which alerts you get in the bell and as push notifications, and for which agents or conversations. See [Notifications](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/guias/notificaciones.md).

## Organization details

From **Settings → General** you can review and update your company's details in **Organization details**:

* **Organization name** — appears in notification emails and in the agents panel.
* **Organization ID** — your organization's identifier, with a button to copy it.

Click **Save changes** to apply. The change takes effect right away for all members.

### Partner code

If someone recommended ChatNorris to you and you didn't enter their code when you signed up, you can add it in the **Partner** section of **Settings → General** during the first 14 days after the account was created. Type the **Partner code** and click **Apply**. If your account is already associated with a partner, the section says so. See [Partner program](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/cuenta-y-facturacion/programa-de-partners.md).

## Inactive Free accounts

To free up resources, ChatNorris cleans up Free plan accounts and agents that stop being used. The owner (or the admins) is always notified by email first, and using the account again is enough to cancel the process. This doesn't apply to paid plans or to accounts that ever had a subscription.

**Free accounts without agents.** If your organization has no agents and nobody has signed in for 45 days:

1. You get a notice: the account will be suspended in 14 days (and a reminder 3 days before). To avoid it, sign in or create an agent.
2. If there's no activity, the account is **suspended**. When you sign in you'll see **Your account is suspended due to inactivity**, with the **Reactivate my account** button.
3. If it stays suspended for 30 days (with a final notice 7 days before), the organization goes to the trash. For 30 more days you can ask us to restore it by writing to **[hola@chatnorris.ai](mailto:hola@chatnorris.ai)**; after that it's permanently deleted.

**Inactive Free agents.** If an agent on a Free account has no activity for 60 days, you get a notice that it will be paused in 14 days (and a reminder 3 days before). A paused agent stops replying on all channels; the agent's workspace shows a notice to **reactivate it**. If it stays paused for 30 days (with a final notice 7 days before), it's deleted along with its conversations, its knowledge base and its settings. Your account stays active.

## Sign out

To sign out, click your name or photo at the bottom of the side menu and select **Log out**.

## Delete your organization

The organization's **owner** can delete it from **Settings → General**, in the **Danger zone**:

**1. Click Delete organization**

At the bottom of **Settings → General**, click **Delete organization**.

**2. Confirm with the name**

Type the exact name of your organization and click **Confirm deletion**. You're signed out.

The organization is deactivated right away and stays in a trash for 30 days. After that period it's permanently deleted along with all its agents, conversations, leads, channels, files and billing data. If you deleted the organization by mistake, write to us at **[hola@chatnorris.ai](mailto:hola@chatnorris.ai)** before the 30 days are up.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deleting the organization doesn't immediately cancel your paid subscription. If you have a paid plan, cancel it first from **Billing & usage → Subscription** to avoid new charges. See [Cancel your paid plan](https://docs.chatnorris.ai/en/cuenta-y-facturacion/facturacion-y-pagos.md#cancel-your-paid-plan).
